Seamless Pattern Tiles are smallish (usually about 4"x4") sections of a repeating pattern that you tell Photoshop to "tile" across the page. Working with a small section makes it easy to recolor and resize otherwise complex patterns and color combinations. Each of my Seamless Pattern Tiles are layered psd files, with each color, (and outlines if applicable), on a separate layer. There are instructions included for setting these as a pattern fill in Photoshop. It's easy and fun!
In this download: There are just three layers of color here, and no outlines, but with such a small tile it's very easy to add more colors to the palette. You can even delete the heart layer to have a simple arc pattern.
